The "Cool Farm Tool"

Mark Pettigrew, Agricultural Development Manager, is leading PepsiCo’s bold project to slash their carbon and water footprint by 50% in the next 5 years. In 2011, the focus is working with PepsiCo’s 350 potato growers to measure the impact of all activities involved in crop production (including on-farm electricity, fertiliser use and diesel use by machinery). We spoke to Mark to find out more about the project and the role of the innovative new ‘Cool Farm Tool’.

There is a huge crossover market , Agriculture and sports turf irrigation both have the same drivers ie increased irrigation efficiency and reduced water usage ...using proven methods , better products and cutting edge technology ( ie improved pc based control systems ) savings can be achieved .
