Wed, 23/11/2011

23 November 2011

Glenskirlie House & Castle, Glasgow

As Scotland moves towards its Zero Waste commitment, this conference is designed to enable AD project managers to develop robust systems and implement vital training for their employees, which will in turn strengthen this fledgling industry, improve efficiency and develop it in the eyes of investors.

Key areas that the programme will cover:

  • Understanding legal requirements for project managers and plant operators
  • Designing health and safety into the plant structure and build from initial stages onwards
  • Optimum operating systems: Putting in place the risk assessments, management structures and working systems that can ensure greater safety
  • Staff training: What needs to be done and how this can help health and safety
  • Key dangers and risks: Gas and emissions monitoring, avoiding poisons and explosions, slips, trips and hazards

The chairman for the day is Les Gornall, a renowned industry expert in AD and specifically in the safety issues around plants. Speakers include Stephen Wise, Technical Director of Shanks Waste Management, Alasdair Meldrum of WAMiTAB, Amaya Arias-Garcia of The TEG Group and Clive Desalis of Rowen House.

With a site visit to the Shanks joint venture Energen Biogas Ltd Cumbernauld AD Plant, this one day conference provides real information from industry leaders.

Clearly an essential day for all AD developers, Health and Safety Management in Anaerobic Digestion will enable an exchange of information and experience, adding up to an unmissable event for a growing industry.
